Entrepreneurship Cell, XLRI Jamshedpur organized the 3rd edition of their highly successful flagship event IdeaKon on 5th November 2016 which attracted a large crowd interested in listening to the enthralling tales of entrepreneurs who have made it big in life. IdeaKon is a speaker cum networking event where entrepreneurs share their experience and journey with entrepreneurial enthusiasts and aspirants and also interact with them informally.

The speaker list included Mr. Rajat Tuli, founder-director of Happily Unmarried, Angshuman Bhattacharya, founder & CEO of SIBIA Analytics, Faisal Ahmad, founder & CEO of BIS Research, Balaji Viswanathan, founder of Zingfin and NalandaU, also the most followed person on Quora, Amit Sahu, co-founder of and Saurabh Kocchar, CEO of Food Panda.

The event started with Mr. Tuli who emphasized on focusing more on the product part of the business. He also shared some of his products and funny stories behind them and advised businesses to never underestimate a customer. Mr. Amit Sahu shared ups and downs of his journey and the fact that it is important to create a risk taking attitude which can be done only when one has considered the worst case scenario and they are not afraid of it.

Balaji Viswanathan compared starting a great company with starting a religion. He also related startups with political movement and gave multiple supporting examples indicating that many companies which are running successfully for a long time have a cult in them.


The event attracted audience from multiple colleges and we were delighted to see such enthusiasm shown by the audience to hear the stories of our speakers and interact with them. We are sure that the audience were benefitted by the journey of our speakers and we would continue to organize more of such events to create an environment of entrepreneurship in Jamshedpur, said a Senior Executive Member of E-Cell. E-Cell also organized a startup quiz in August which was highly successful in garnering over 100+ participation across colleges and schools.
